Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Crestento. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

Crestento is an AI writing assistant that drafts performance review prose from manager-supplied bullet points and reference materials. It is not a decision-making tool. See our AI Disclosure for what the AI does and does not do.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old and have the authority to bind your organization (if creating a workspace for one).
  • You are responsible for keeping your account secure. We use magic-link authentication; treat sign-in emails as you would a password.
  • You are responsible for all activity in your workspace, including content created by other members you invite.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Crestento to make, score, or recommend employment decisions about any individual based solely on AI output.
  • Submit personally identifying information about employees beyond what is necessary for drafting their review (e.g., do not paste salary, medical, or protected-class information).
  • Use the service to harass, defame, or unlawfully discriminate against any person.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our role library or system prompts.
  • Resell or repackage the service without a written commercial agreement with us.
  • Bypass rate limits, quotas, or security features.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

  • Crestento offers a free tier (2 lifetime review drafts) and annual subscription tiers (Solo, Team, Enterprise). All prices are quoted in USD.
  • Annual subscriptions are billed in full at signup and renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
  • You can cancel, update your payment method, and download invoices any time from the customer portal linked on the Billing page (provided by our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your paid period; you keep access until then. To add or remove seats on a Team plan mid-period, contact support — we’ll process the change manually and any prorated balance is handled per Lemon Squeezy’s standard policy.
  • The Free tier is the trial. Before paying, you can draft two real reviews on the Free tier with all core features to confirm the product works for your role and writing style. Because of this, we do not offer a money-back guarantee on paid plans — the trial is built into the product.
  • Refunds are at our discretion. We will consider refund requests where the service materially fails to perform as described, where you were charged for a renewal you intended to cancel and contact us within 14 days of that renewal, or where applicable consumer law requires one. Refunds for partial periods are not provided.
  • We may change pricing for new subscriptions at any time. Existing subscriptions will be honoured at their current price through the end of the paid period; renewal pricing changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance.

5. What we can see and store

To be transparent: when you use Crestento, we (the operator) can see the structured inputs you enter, any reference documents you attach, and the AI-generated drafts produced from them. This is not a private or zero-knowledge service.

  • Your inputs and the resulting drafts are stored in our database (Supabase Postgres, encrypted at rest), associated with your account, so you can view, edit, export, and revisit them.
  • Authorised Crestentopersonnel may access this content in limited operational circumstances — for example, to investigate a reported bug you’ve filed, to respond to a support request you’ve made, to investigate suspected abuse, or where required by law.
  • We do not browse, profile, or systematically read customer content outside the circumstances above, and we do not use it to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for the data-handling detail and our DPA for the contractual version.
  • Don’t paste content you wouldn’t want a small SaaS operator to have access to — most obviously, salaries, medical information, or anything that would identify a protected characteristic. The point of the structured form is to keep input narrow and reviewable.

6. AI output disclaimer

AI output is suggestive, not authoritative. Crestento drafts language based on input you provide; you remain solely responsible for the accuracy, fairness, and consequences of any review you save, send, or act upon. We make no warranty that AI output will be free of bias, errors, or inappropriate phrasing. See our AI Disclosure.

7. Intellectual property

  • You retain ownership of the inputs you provide and the drafts generated from them.
  • You grant Crestento a limited license to process, store, and render your content as needed to operate the service.
  • We retain ownership of Crestento itself, including the role library, system prompts, source code, branding, and documentation.

8. Termination

  • You can delete your workspace at any time from settings.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, materially abuse the service, or fail to pay. We will give reasonable notice except where doing so would harm other users or violate law.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Crestento is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on liability. In those cases, the above limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Victoria, Australia, unless otherwise required by law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
